VIROINF will recruit fifteen early stage researchers at fifteen institutes in eight countries (Germany, France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Israel).

Successful applicants will be offered a 36-month employee contract at one of the fifteen host institutions, and receive a salary for ESRs set out by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) regulations. The salary includes a living allowance, a mobility allowance and, if appropriate, a family allowance.
Eligibility criteria
European and non-European students are invited to apply to any of the fifteen fellowships.
To be eligible, the candidate:
- must be in the first four years of her/his research career. Candidates should ideally possess a Master’s degree in a relevant academic field or a degree that allows them to embark in a PhD (applications from candidates who already possess a doctoral degree cannot be considered).
- must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, ect.) in the country of the institution that recruits the student for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date. Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national service are not taken into account.
- must be willing to spend a prolonged time in another institute/country of the network during the PhD thesis period.
- must have great interest and be willing to work at the interphase of two disciplines.

The mail subject has to be VIROINF ESR X (X being the number of the project). Please include a letter of interest, a CV and at least one recommendation letter as one pdf file (max file size 5 MB). Please send a single application for each project you are interested in.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some host institutions require additional submission of the application documents via the host’s submission system. This currently concerns applications for project ESR 2 (CNRS) and ESR 11 (KU Leuven).
